Measuring tools

there are many types of measuring tools which are used in workshop.some of important tools are given below-

Steel scale

They are used to measure lengths and other geometrical parameters. They can be a single steel plate or flexible tape type tool.

Calipers

They are usually of two types- inside and outside caliper. They are used to measure internal and external size (for e.g. diameter) of an object. It requires external scale to compare the measured value.

Vernier calipers
It is a precision tool used to measure a small distance with high accuracy. It has got two different jaws to measure outside and inside dimension of an object.It can be a scale, dial or digital type vernier caliper

Protractor

Protractors are the tools that help humans to measure angles.A protractor is a measuring instrument, typically made of transparent plastic or glass, for measuringangles. Micrometer

Thread Pitch Gauge

 A thread pitch gauge is used to measure the threads on a screw. It has many thin blades each with a number which shows the distance between the threads.it is usually heat and trail method to measure the thread pitch.it is mostly used in industries.
